As a soloist, the artist has been invited to participate at international guitar festivals in his home country and abroad.

With the CD productions "La Leona" and "Sueno", Joachim Gassmann recorded Spanish guitar music of the 19th century. In addition, radio and television recordings of his music have also been made.

Accopanying the Spanish singer Iziar Real Jorge, he participated in song evenings staged in Germany, the former East German Republic, Austria, Switzerland and in Denmark; also giving concerts as a chamber musician in a string quartet and in duo with flute.
